Aufgrund der Steigerung von Nennleistung und Nabenh\\\"{o}he f\\\"{u}r Windturbinen m\\\"{u}ssen auch die Dimensionen bei den Tragstrukturen erh\\\"{o}ht werden. Einige Anlagentypen erfordern mittlerweile einen Turmfu\\ssdurchmesser von \\&gt; 4,5\u2009m. In diesen Durchmessern lassen sich Turmsektionen auf der Stra\\sse nicht mehr (wirtschaftlich) transportieren. Daher sind vermehrt modulare Bauweisen entwickelt worden, wobei die Stahlsektionen aus l\\\"{a}ngsgeteilten Segmenten bestehen, die auf der Baustelle endmontiert werden. Des Weiteren stellt die Verbindungstechnik f\\\"{u}r turmartige Bauwerke immer wieder eine neue Herausforderung dar, wenn gr\\\"{o}\\ssere Windenergieanlagen geplant werden. Als technische Alternative zu den bisherigen Turmkonfigurationen wird ein Konzept f\\\"{u}r einen modularen Polygonturm vorgestellt, dessen Plattensegmente entlang der L\\\"{a}ngskanten \\\"{u}ber Strangpressprofile verbunden werden sollen, sodass am Standort keine weiteren Schraub- oder Schwei\\ssverbindungen erforderlich sind. Durch diese innovative Verbindungstechnik und die l\\\"{a}ngsorientierte Fertigung von ebenen Turmsegmenten sollen Umformprozesse und teilweise auch Schwei\\ssprozesse w\\\"{a}hrend der Fertigungsphase eingespart werden, die bislang bei den rohrf\\\"{o}rmigen Stahlt\\\"{u}rmen erforderlich sind. Im Rahmen eines Forschungsprojekts wurde die technische Machbarkeit eines modularen Polygonturms f\\\"{u}r eine Anlagenklasse mit 10\u2005MW Nennleistung und 200\u2009m Nabenh\\\"{o}he analysiert, um L\\\"{o}sungsans\\\"{a}tze f\\\"{u}r die n\\\"{a}chste Generation von Onshore-Windenergieanlagen anbieten zu k\\\"{o}nnen. F\\\"{u}r eine fiktive Referenz-Windenergieanlage wurden Lastf\\\"{a}lle generiert, um Bemessungen f\\\"{u}r die Turmsektionen durchf\\\"{u}hren zu k\\\"{o}nnen.
