The German Wind Energy Association (Bundesverband Windenergie e. V.) (BWE) is a professional association of the wind energy industry in Germany. The association was formed in 1996 from the merger of the two associations Interessenverband Windkraft Binnenland (IWB) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Windenergie (DGW).
It unites different areas such as planners, manufacturers and operators of wind power plants as well as other promoters and users of wind power use. The BWE is one of the largest registered associations (e.V.) in the wind energy sector in Germany.
The BWE has been committed to a sustainable and efficient expansion of wind energy in Germany for years. His expert speakers also work in international associations such as WindEurope, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) on the European and global development of wind energy.
